Welcome to an international university with high ambitions
As rector of Aarhus University, I would like to welcome highly qualified students from all over the world. Aarhus University wants to recruit PhD students from among the best students in the world. The university has ambitions of increasing the number of PhD students at our graduate schools. There are currently approximately 1,450 students enrolled in PhD degrees at the university, and during the course of the next few years, we expect to boost this figure to 2,000 PhD students.
Aarhus University offers attractive four-year PhD scholarships and three-year PhD fellowships. The PhD scholarships are intended for students who have yet to complete a Master’s degree, but who have the ability and ambition to complete a PhD degree within four years. The three-year PhD fellowships are intended for students who have already passed a course of education corresponding to a Master’s degree, and who are thus ready to begin PhD studies.
The university hopes that highly qualified, top-motivated students from all over the world will regard these scholarships as an opportunity for completing an internationally recognised PhD degree programme that will qualify them to play a distinct role in the knowledge society of the future.
